Las Vegas Grows Commercial Database with almost 200,000 Sale Comps & Building Records

Congratulations to the Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV) for successfully augmenting their commercial database with almost 200,000 additional records! This project has been in the works for months, and is part of a concerted effort to provide their members with the most accurate and comprehensive real estate data available.

The Process – Merge & Verify
We worked with CALV to identify and carefully merge records from multiple sources (county tax databases, assessor records, local research databases, etc) into their CIE. Going forward, CALV has partnered with a local research firm, the Restrepo Consulting Group. Restrepo will verify and maintain the data, while receiving quarterly infusions of the latest building/owner records and recent sale transactions.

The Result – Savings for Members
The result is an extremely cost-effective database of commercial property listings, sale/lease comparables, building and owner records available to CALV members. This is a perfect example of how much time and money a local commercial real estate community can save by coming together to pool information and resources!

“I would like to thank Catylist for making the import go off without a hitch. This was a huge undertaking and Catylist made the difficult look easy. My hat is off to your technical staff that used their magic fingers in this effort. I have had other local brokers tell me that Catylist is a much superior product than any of the other competing platforms available to the brokerage community. As for me, I have found Catylist is very robust and able to give me just the information I need in order to advise my clients properly and perhaps just as important, the system is intuitive and easy to “drive” for those just getting started and can grow as the broker becomes more familiar with all the tools as his/her disposal.” — Garry Cuff, CCIM, 2009 President CALV

Las Vegas REALTORS Make a Big Move towards a Comprehensive Commercial Real Estate Research Database

LAS VEGAS – (December 1, 2009) – Commercial Alliance Las Vegas (CALV), operated by the Greater Las Vegas Association of REALTORS®, recently joined forces with Restrepo Consulting Group and a leading national real estate data provider to drastically expand the size and quality of their repository of Las Vegas commercial real estate data.

Since 2004, CALV has partnered with Catylist to provide members with a powerful listing and marketing Commercial Information Exchange, www.calv.org, allowing them to share and market properties more efficiently. Data entered by members is owned and controlled by the association on behalf of their commercial real estate community. Next on their agenda is to develop an affordable, fully-researched database that includes all commercial land and building records in the Greater Las Vegas market area in addition to recent sale and lease transactions and currently listed properties.

CALV worked with Catylist to license and import nearly 140,000 property records and 45,000 comparables into their CIE, complete with tax and assessment information, zoning, ownership details, and verified sales transactions. The data came from two trusted sources: the country’s largest provider of business information and Restrepo Consulting Group LLC, who has been researching the Las Vegas mar ket for years. In addition to providing local market data, John Restrepo and his team have been hired to track and verify member-entered listings, transactions and property data on an on-going basis.

CALV experienced significant growth over the past year and is supported by over 100 companies including CB Richard Ellis, Grubb & Ellis, Colliers International, Commerce CRG, and Prudential Commercial Real Estate. This data integration further establishes their CIE as the most comprehensive and accurate source of commercial real estate data in the market, and brings them closer to their goal of compiling a permanent record of each building or land parcel, each with a complete listing and transaction history.
